DSO Teen Council
 
The DSO Teen Council is comprised of musically passionate teens who plan and execute events and performances designed to build teen interest and audiences for classical music.  In addition, they both advise DSO artistic leadership on what is important to Dallas area teens, and act as ambassadors for both the DSO and classical music to their friends and peers.If you are a teen in the DFW area with musical experience and a track record of proven leadership, the DSO Teen Council may just be the opportunity you've been looking for.   Click Here for more information and an application.
 
Lynn Harrell Concerto Competition
 
Developed to identify and encourage the highest level of young musical talent in the south central United States, the Lynn Harrell Concerto Competition provides string and piano students the opportunity to compete for scholarships and the chance to perform with the Dallas Symphony Orchestra.  The Eleventh Annual Lynn Harrell Concerto Competition for violin, viola, cello, bass and piano will be held on the campus of Southern Methodist University on Saturday, April 14th, 2012.  This prestigious competition is open to students aged 18 and under from a 5-state region (New Mexico, Texas, Arkansas, Oklahoma & Louisiana).  Click Here for more information and an application.
 
Texas Young Composers Project
 
The Dallas Symphony Orchestra has teamed up with Voices of Change, the most prestigious professional new music ensemble in Texas, to offer young composers in the state a chance to experience their work prepared and performed at the very highest level.  Two compositions by high school students and two compositions by college or university students will be selected for this honor.  For more information and an application, Click Here.
