Program
The Merle J. Isaac Composition Contest exists to encourage the composition, publication, and performance of music of quality for the benefit of school orchestra programs. American String Teachers Association will jury original composition that is unpublished and suitable for full orchestra. The selected composer will receive a monetary prize.
Eligibility
the junior division is open to student composers through the age of 18. Students are invited to submit an original, unpublished composition that is suitable for a string or full orchestra at the elementary, middle/ junior high level. Must have letter of recommendation from teacher who is a ASTA member.
